2022 University of Limpopo CHPC Student Cluster Competition

The Center for High-Performance Computing (CHPC) invites applications from suitably qualified candidates to enter the CHPC Student Cluster Competition. The Centre for High-Performance Computing (CHPC) is an initiative funded by the Department of Science and Innovation (DSI) and managed by the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR).

The CHPC Student Cluster Competition will give undergraduate students at South African universities exposure to the High-Performance Computing (HPC) industry. This year, the invitation is extended to suitably qualified undergraduate and postgraduate students from universities throughout Africa. The purpose of the CHPC is to grow expertise and exposure to the HPC industry across the continent.

Complete the online application form before 23h59 on June 10, 2022. Please apply soon as there are limited spaces available for in-person participation. The successful teams will be contacted by June 13, 2022. The team that wins will be entered into the Internet Systems Consortium (ISC) Student Cluster Competition hosted at the 2023 International Supercomputing Conference in Germany.

The competition format for 2022 will be hybrid, comprising a virtual self-study preparatory component and leading up to an intensive in-person competition week.
