The Faculty of Science and Agriculture under the School of Molecular and Life Sciences, Department of Biodiversity at the University of Limpopo is privileged to host the 48th Annual South African Association of Botanists (SAAB) Conference. The SAAB conference will take place from 17 to 20 January 2023 at the Protea Hotel Ranch Resort in Polokwane. The institution is proud to host such a prestigious event for the first time. The university invites researchers, experts and postgraduate students to submit abstracts for the SAAB Conference.
The University is delighted to present the conference under the theme: “Plants, Health and Prosperity”. A true reflection of the diversity of the biodiversity in the Limpopo Province. The SAAB conference will bring together experts and researchers from different niche areas of science such as Conservation, Ecology, Traditional medicine, Ethnobotany, Medicinal plants and Botany. The conference also aims to support and develop postgraduate students into emerging researchers and scientists.
The researchers from different institutions and areas of expertise will present the latest research on Medicinal Plants research. The challenges encountered and plan of action.

Presentation Requirements:
- Please make a note of the venue in which you will be presenting so that you can hand in your presentation on the morning of the day you will be presenting or, if possible, the afternoon before.
- All papers should be presented using the most recent version of Microsoft PowerPoint (.ppt or .pptx file extensions).
- Please ensure that all embedded files/video clips are saved as separate files in the same folder as your presentation.
- All presentation images must be saved as JPEGs. Please ensure that image resolution is appropriately compressed so that presentations do not lag when images are displayed.
- Use pictures as embedded objects rather than linked files.
- Video and audio objects are permitted as embedded objects; please notify the conference organizers upon registration if you intend to use video or audio files so that they can be tested.
- Ascertain that all necessary Codecs for Movie Clips are included with the presentation.
All presentations must adhere to strict timings (15 minutes for presentation and 5 minutes for discussion), and the Chair will notify you of how much time is remaining in your presentation by holding up time cards (10 minutes, 5 minutes, 2 minutes).

Only one form will be allowed for submission per abstract.
