BCDI 2030 Research Stay Scholarship Opportunity

The University of Limpopo is pleased to announce an exciting fully funded research opportunity for eligible master’s-level students through the Canadian International Development Scholarships 2030 (BCDI 2030) program. Successful applicants will join the January 2027 cohort for a 4- or 8-month research stay at Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU) in Canada.

This prestigious scholarship offers selected scholars the chance to collaborate closely with TMU faculty on innovative research projects across a range of fields. Participants will strengthen their academic and professional skills, gain international exposure, and engage in research aimed at contributing to key development priorities in South Africa. The program is funded by the Government of Canada and promotes higher education collaboration and capacity building.

Students from diverse backgrounds, including women and underrepresented groups, are strongly encouraged to apply. Research opportunities are available in the following areas:

  • STEM
  • Artificial Intelligence
  • Green and Blue Economy
  • Climate Action
  • Health Sciences
  • Governance and Administration

The scholarship provides comprehensive support, including international airfare, living expenses in Canada, health insurance, and academic mentorship throughout the research stay.
