The University of Limpopo Library is initiating a significant heritage and archival project aimed at collecting a variety of literary works, including books, poetry, articles, and other written forms that celebrate Professor Mahlo Mokgalong and recognise his tenure as the longest-serving Vice-Chancellor of the University (2003–2025).
This initiative also includes the documentation and commemoration of all former Vice-Chancellors of the University of Limpopo, including those who served under the previous institution known as the University of the North.
The purpose of this project is to preserve and honour the leadership history of our institution.
We cordially invite all alumni to contribute by sharing or donating books, book chapters, manuscripts, poetry or creative writing, biographical accounts, articles, and any publications that profile Professor Mokgalong or other former Vice-Chancellors of the university.
Alumni are also encouraged to donate copies of their authored works, as the library is establishing an Alumni Authors shelf—a dedicated space designed to showcase the published contributions of UL graduates. This initiative aims to celebrate the accomplishments of our alumni, inspire current students and staff, and enhance alumni relations.
Further details regarding the submission and donation process will be communicated by the library team responsible for this project.
