
CALL FOR PAPERS: 2024 SPRING LECTURES
Theme:Â An Africa impacted by 4IR, AI, BRICS, knowledge economy, solutions economy, and social impact imperatives: Responding to Local and Global Crises
The Faculty of Humanities invites students, academics, and researchers to submit abstracts for the 2024 Spring Lectures, which will be held in person from September 2nd to 3rd, 2024. The lectures will focus on the topic of Africa in the context of the 4th Industrial Revolution (4IR), AI, implications related to BRICS, the knowledge economy, solutions economy, and social impact imperatives in addressing local and global crises. Sub-themes should provide effective guidelines for presenters.
Main papers aligned with the theme will be given 25 minutes each for presentation. Additionally, shorter papers of 15 minutes each are invited from UL Faculty of Humanities PhD students, based on their ongoing doctoral research. These shorter presentations should include the names of students and their supervisors, who will be accredited as co-presenters.

All abstracts should:
(i) Be 250 to 300 words in length
(ii) Include key elements like research problem, aim and research methodology
(iii) List a maximum of 5 keywords at the bottom
(iv) Be accompanied by full details of the accredited journal identified for publication of the ensuing full paper. Correspondence attesting to progress towards publication will be an added advantage.
N.B. Abstracts that do not comply with the above requirements will not be accepted.
