Mission
The Department of Social Work, through excellence in teaching, research and service will transform disadvantaged students into competent and dynamic social workers who will lead the change that confronts the challenges facing their communities and society at large. This will be achieved by:
- Exposing students to a progressive learning content;
- Conscientising students to structural causes of poverty and injustice;
- Instilling a strong desire to undermine the forces of inequality
- Instilling a strong sense of justice among students; and
- Fostering a sense of collaboration with communities;
