The Department of Sociology and Anthropology at the University of Limpopo proudly presents a thought-provoking event under the theme “Back to our Roots: Embracing the Heritage of Africa and its Diaspora.” This gathering is dedicated to honoring our ancestry, preserving our cultural legacy, and celebrating the richness of African heritage across generations.
The event will take place on Wednesday, 24 September 2025, starting at 10h00 at Moshobane Square. It promises to be an inspiring celebration featuring indigenous games, indigenous music, poetry, and engaging dialogues that reflect the values, traditions, and spirit of African identity.
With the call to action, “Honoring our ancestry, upholding our legacy, preserving our culture, adopting our traditions, and cherishing our roots,” this event seeks to create a space for cultural pride, unity, and appreciation of the African diaspora’s contribution to global heritage.
