Lekoko Nkadimeng, the newly re-elected Chairperson of the University of Limpopo (UL) Limpopo Alumni Chapter, has called on all alumni and convocation members to reconnect with their alma mater and contribute meaningfully to its ongoing growth and transformation
Reaffirming his commitment to unity and service, Nkadimeng stressed the importance of a collective purpose in fulfilling the alumni’s mission.
“Let us not become divided after victory, as our responsibility remains significant in delivering on our mandate,” he stated. “When we gather at alumni conferences, we must stand united as one voice and work together to advance our mission.”
He encouraged graduates from all generations to rekindle their ties with the University, reminding them that true success comes from giving back.
“UL shaped us into who we are today. Now it’s our turn to give back by supporting needy students, strengthening our networks, and helping the institution move forward with pride and purpose,” he added.
Nkadimeng, who holds an Honours degree in Public Administration from UL, will lead the Limpopo Alumni Chapter for the next four years. He is joined in the executive by fellow UL graduates: Elias Machoga, Deputy Chairperson with a BSc in Agriculture; Advocate Rabi Mashabela, a prominent lawyer and businessman with a Bachelor of Laws degree serving as Secretary; and Vusi Maluleke, who holds a Master’s in Planning and Development, acting as Treasurer. Wendy Makgabo, with a BA in Psychology, and Itumeleng Matheto, who has a BA in Social Work, are also part of the executive team.
Closing his address, Nkadimeng made a heartfelt appeal for renewed commitment among alumni.

“Our alma mater continues to produce graduates who embody the spirit of ‘Finding Solutions for Africa.’ Let us stand together, not just as former students but as lifelong ambassadors of UL.”
Prof Kwena Masha, UL Registrar and Secretary of the Alumni and Convocation Association, also spoke at the event, providing updates on the University’s recent milestones. He highlighted significant progress in academic excellence, research output, and infrastructure development, noting that student enrolment has risen to 24,647. Professor Masha commended the Limpopo Chapter for its exemplary leadership and unity.
“We encourage our alumni to uphold and pursue the vision and goals of the University, as demonstrated by the UL Limpopo Alumni and Convocation Chapter Executive Committee.”
Donald Selamolela, President of the UL Alumni and Convocation Association, added his support by congratulating the outgoing committee for their dedication and commitment. He urged members to continue elevating the dignity of the convocation while advancing the University’s mission and vision.
“We are proud to be recognised as one of the leading convocation structures in the country,” Selamolela said.
