The Turfloop Graduate School of Leadership (TGSL) is proud to present the 1st Global Leadership and Sustainability Symposium under the theme “Innovation, Climate Change Management, and Energy Transition.”
This groundbreaking event will take place on Thursday, 16 October 2025, from 08:30 to 17:00 at the TGSL premises. To ensure inclusivity and broader participation, the symposium will be hosted in a hybrid format, allowing both in-person and virtual attendance.
The symposium will serve as a platform for scholars, researchers, policymakers, practitioners, and students to engage in meaningful dialogue on sustainable leadership, innovative solutions, and strategies for managing the global challenges of climate change and energy transition.
The keynote address will be delivered by Professor Francis Owusu, Associate Dean for Global Engagement at Iowa State University in the United States. His contribution is expected to provide valuable insights into global sustainability leadership and academic partnerships that drive climate innovation. The discussion will be guided by Dr. Kolisa Y. Sinyanya, founder of Ulwazi Scientific Communications and STEM Research, and an award-winning ocean biogeochemist who will serve as the panel moderator.
Distinguished panelists will include Ms. Lebogang L. Mosotho, Disaster Management Officer at Capricorn District Municipality and President of the Disaster Management Institute of Southern Africa, and Dr. Cornelius Ruiters, Chief Executive Officer of the Lepelle Northern Water Board. Together, they will share their expertise on leadership in environmental management, disaster resilience, and sustainable water governance, enriching the symposium’s focus on innovation and adaptation in the face of climate change.
