The University of Limpopo (UL) will host its celebration of South African Library Week 2025 from March 24 to 26, under the theme “Libraries for Sustainable Communities.” This annual event emphasizes the vital role libraries play in fostering sustainable practices and community development.
The Guest Speaker will be Professor Lefose Makgahlela, who is not only the LIASA President-Elect but also an Associate Professor and Programme Coordinator in the Programme of Information Studies at the University of Limpopo’s Department of Communications, Media, and Information Studies. With extensive expertise in information management and community engagement, Professor Makgahlela will share insights on the importance of libraries in creating sustainable communities.

Book Launch: “My Humaneistic Codes: Keys to My Afrikan Humanist Future,” authored by Dr. KM Mphahlele, a Research Associate at the University of Limpopo. This work explores the intersections of African humanism and modernity, offering a transformative perspective on community identity and values.
Transformational Agreement by Springer Nature: A presentation discussing the implications of this agreement on research accessibility and collaborative opportunities for libraries and academic institutions, aimed at enhancing knowledge sharing.
Research Management Tools: An informative session on the latest tools and technologies available for effective research management, highlighting best practices for optimizing research outcomes and promoting interdisciplinary collaboration.
