The University of Limpopo’s Technology Transfer Office (TTO) is pleased to invite all students to participate in the World Intellectual Property (IP) Day 2026 Youth Video Competition. This year’s global theme, “Game Changers: IP Powering Sports Innovation,” calls on young innovators to explore the exciting intersection between intellectual property and the world of sport.
This dynamic competition provides a platform for students to creatively showcase how IP drives innovation within the sports sector. Whether through advancements in technology, equipment design, branding, broadcasting, performance analytics, or sport-related entrepreneurship, participants are encouraged to demonstrate how intellectual property protection empowers creators, enhances competitiveness, and transforms the sports industry.
How to Participate
To enter, students must register on the official competition platform and submit a video that aligns with the 2026 theme. The closing date for submissions is 15 March 2026 at 23:59. Public voting for the People’s Choice Prize will take place from 06–19 April 2026, giving audiences an opportunity to support their favourite entries. Winners will be announced on 24 April 2026, as part of the global celebration of World IP Day.
