The Africa Centre for Sustainability Accounting and Management (ACSAM) is a premier research hub within the School of Accountancy (SoA) at the University of Limpopo. As a research centre, we specialise in postgraduate studies and research in the contemporary research niche area of sustainability accounting. We are dedicated to advancing knowledge and developing future leaders in this critical field. ACSAM is dedicated to empowering academic trainees, as well as master’s and doctoral students, by providing comprehensive support and resources throughout their academic and research journeys. Our programme is meticulously designed to enhance the skills and knowledge necessary for high-quality research in sustainability accounting and management. Additionally, ACSAM aims to explore the current state of Sustainability Accounting and Management in emerging economies and the extent to which it is being applied to account for corporate impacts on the environment.

Programmes
  • Master of Commerce (MCom) in Accountancy [NQF Level 9]

Our MCom programme offers a specialisation in sustainability accounting, equipping you with the skills and expertise to integrate environmental, social, and governance (ESG) factors into financial reporting and decision-making.

  • Doctor of Commerce (DCom) in Accountancy [NQF Level 10]

The DCom programme provides a rigorous platform for conducting advanced research in sustainability accounting. You will work closely with experts in sustainability accounting to develop your research skills and make a significant contribution to the field.
